Let me tell you a bit about myself. I have had an interest in music since a very young age...ever since my parents would play classical, folk and traditional music on the huge turntable in our living room. I would lie underneath it to feel the beat or just dance in the living room there. My parents got a Kimball Swinger organ when I was a child and I had a wonderful time composing my own tunes on it and giving concerts to my stuffed animals and dolls. They were a very attentive audience!
In 2001 I received a mountain dulcimer as a gift from my brother-in-law who taught me the basics of playing it and I taught myself several songs. I became part of the band "Rocky Creek" also in 2001. While with Rocky Creek I also learned to play the banjo, autoharp and bodhran (a Celtic drum). We played Celtic, bluegrass, gospel, traditional, and folk music at many different venues. I left Rocky Creek in 2008 to pursue a solo venture and here I am today!
These days my musical repertoire consists of quite a variety of music. My style is generally relaxing. I play a lot of Celtic, traditional, folk, and even some more modern selections on the autoharp and mountain dulcimer, and I sing. The CD I have recorded is called "Whence I'd Been" and is all traditional Celtic. It took five years to produce it and a lot changed in those five years, hence the name of the CD. I'm not the same person I was when it was recorded.
